Phinisi Yacht Charter Indonesia
A phinisi charter means the whole vessel is yours: your dates, your group, your route. What varies between boats is not where they can go but how they carry you there — and that difference is what the three tiers below describe.
133 vessels. From USD 1,850 per trip.
Your yacht, your itinerary, your pace.
Handpicked vessels for exceptional comfort and service.
Professional captains, guides, chefs and hospitality teams.
Tailor-made experiences across Indonesia.
Choose Your Tier
Start from the group, not from the boat. Headcount decides cabin count, cabin count decides which vessels are even possible, and only then does finish level become a real choice.
VVIP Phinisi
Superyacht-class hulls of 26 to 65 metres with more crew aboard than guests. Compressors and a dive team on board, multiple tenders, and the range for Raja Ampat and the Banda Sea.
From USD 3,800 / night
2–26 guests · 1–14 cabins · 32 vessels
Luxury Phinisi
Ensuite cabins throughout, air conditioning, a chef and a dedicated guide on hulls of 23 to 48 metres. The tier that fits most groups sailing Komodo.
From USD 2,600 / trip
10–32 guests · 4–11 cabins · 52 vessels
Deluxe Phinisi
Whole-boat charter at the lowest entry point, on hulls of 19 to 32 metres. Same islands and anchorages as the tiers above, simpler finish and fewer extras.
From USD 1,850 / trip
7–24 guests · 3–8 cabins · 36 vessels
Where Will You Sail?
Four sailing regions, each with its own season and its own reason to go. Every route below is one we operate directly.
Komodo
Padar ridgelines, Pink Beach and the manta channels of Karang Makassar, all within short sheltered crossings from Labuan Bajo.
Raja Ampat
Karst islands and the richest reef biodiversity on earth, spread across Misool, Wayag and the Dampier Strait.
Lombok
The western approach to Komodo through Sumbawa, with whale sharks at Teluk Saleh along the way.
Banda Sea
An open-water crossing that opens only twice a year, past the volcanic Banda Islands and their hammerhead season.
More Than a Yacht. Your Private Journey.
Booking a cabin puts you on someone else’s schedule. Chartering the whole vessel changes the trip at a structural level: the boat waits when the light is good, moves when the weather turns, and answers to your group rather than to a manifest.
- Complete privacy
No other guests aboard. The saloon, the sun deck and the tender are yours alone. - Flexible itinerary
Stops and timings are drafted with the captain and stay adjustable day to day. - Personalised service
Menus planned around your group before departure, dietary needs handled properly. - Professional crew
Captain, chef, guide and deck team, sized to the vessel rather than the budget.
- Dining aboard
Three meals a day cooked fresh on board, served on deck at the times you keep. - Diving and snorkelling
Snorkelling gear for every guest; tanks and a guide on request, or a full dive team on VVIP vessels. - Island experiences
Guided treks on Rinca and Komodo, beach landings and shore excursions included. - Any group shape
Vessels sleeping two to thirty-two guests, so couples and large families both fit.
Designed Around You
A private charter is a blank itinerary, not a fixed product. Tell the captain what matters to your group and the route is built around it — more dive sites, more beach time, later mornings, or a slower pace with fewer stops.
Kelor, Kanawa, Padar and the beaches between them.
The boat anchors overnight so you climb before the day boats arrive.
Manta Sandy and Karang Makassar, gear included for every guest.
Cape Kri, Blue Magic and Batu Bolong, with tanks and a guide arranged on request.
Ranger-guided dragon treks on Rinca and Komodo Island.
Kayaks, paddleboards and swim stops at Kanawa and Gili Lawa.
Sun deck, shaded saloon and meals cooked fresh by the crew.
Thousands of flying foxes leaving the mangroves at dusk.
Satonda and Moyo on the longer Lombok crossing, well off the main route.
How It Works
Four steps from first message to departure. Nothing is charged until a vessel and dates are confirmed.
Tell Us What You Want
Dates, group size, departure port and whether diving matters. Those four answers narrow the fleet immediately.
Choose Your Yacht
We send back only vessels genuinely free for your dates, with rates direct from the operator. Options are held around seven days while you book flights.
Customise Your Journey
The captain drafts a route against the forecast rather than a template. We register every guest for Komodo permits through SiOra.
Set Sail
Transfer from your hotel or the airport, safety briefing aboard, and departure.
Find a Phinisi That Fits Your Journey
Start from the fleet tier if budget and finish level matter most, or from the destination if the route is already decided. Every link below opens a real page listing the vessels that serve it.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a phinisi yacht charter in Indonesia?
It means booking an entire vessel rather than a cabin on it. The boat, its captain, chef, guide and deck crew work to your group alone, and the route is drafted with you instead of fixed to a schedule. A phinisi is a traditional Indonesian wooden sailing yacht, built here between 19 and 65 metres and fitted out to modern standards.
How much does it cost to charter a phinisi?
Whole-boat rates start from USD 1,850 per trip on the Deluxe tier, run from USD 2,600 to USD 8,000 on Luxury, and from USD 3,800 to USD 26,000 per night on the VVIP fleet. Because the rate covers the vessel rather than a seat, the cost per person falls sharply as your group fills the cabins.
Which tier should I choose?
Work backwards from three things: how many cabins your group needs, whether every cabin must have its own bathroom, and how far you are sailing. Groups under ten on a short Komodo route are usually best served by Deluxe. Longer Raja Ampat and Banda Sea itineraries justify VVIP, which carries the range, the stability and the dive team for open water.
What is the difference between the three tiers?
VVIP and Luxury vessels give every cabin an ensuite; on Deluxe boats some cabins share. Crew ratio moves from roughly one per two guests on Deluxe to more crew than guests on VVIP. VVIP carries compressors and a dive team aboard, Luxury arranges tanks with notice, and Deluxe routes diving through a partner operator.
What destinations can I sail?
Komodo National Park from Labuan Bajo, Raja Ampat from Sorong, the Lombok to Flores crossing through Sumbawa, and the Banda Sea in its two transition windows each year. Alor and Halmahera are sailed on request. Every tier handles Komodo comfortably; the longer open-water routes reward a larger hull.
Can I customise my itinerary?
Yes, on every tier. The captain drafts a route against the forecast rather than a template, and it stays adjustable day to day within park boundaries, permit coverage and sea conditions.
How far ahead should I book?
Six to eight weeks for a Deluxe charter outside peak season, several months for Luxury in July and August, and twelve to eighteen months for the largest VVIP yachts over Christmas and New Year.
